WOW
what a blast. I still can't believe how much faster everyone
was this year. The new guys who had just taken up the sport
were learning really quickly and didn't appear to have much
trouble keeping up to us (yikes). There were some colossal
wipeouts at high speed but amazingly there were very few
injuries.

It
was the first year that gravity bikes were raced at The
Highland Wheels Extreme and cripes were they fast. Neil
Farrow aboard his new gravity bike (see 'Projects' section
of this site) were going like the clappers and he managed
to secure a podium finish (3rd place!) for which he received
a trophy and a bottle of whisky! Congratulations Neil! ...see

Cripes
what a great event and if you don't believe us just have
a look at these photos. The guy in the photo (on the left)
is Douglas 'Bales' Elder - what a bloke! I met him after
I crashed my luge in the gunbarrel. Apparently Douglas crashed
out in more than 50% of his runs and he just couldn't wait
to get back to the top and to have another go. Top bloke,
he's definitely DoctorDanger material. ...see

Yet
again the buttboarders had a fantastic time at Aviemore.
the newly formed 'Team Doctor Danger' didn't give Mr. Lott
a run for his money but we had a laugh and a few good crashes.
Durning one of the practice runs Todd O'Neill (your editor)
lost control of his buttboard in the gunbarrel and ran wide
taking out fellow team mate Dr. Neil Farrow on his gravity
bike. 'I was following team orders'. ...see

Cripes
that's dangerous. The standup guys were going hell-for-leather
and several of them were off to hospital as a result. They
will all recover but poor Jay Davis was left with a broken
leg which will be sure to slow him down a bit. Get well
soon Jay! ...see

Have
a look at some of the streetluges, buttboards, gravity bikes,
dirtsurfers, and skateboards which were raced. Darren Lott
had a few of his new Speed Sticks and they were seriously
fast but not quite as fast as Dave Rogers on his pegless
luge. We raced our new DoctorDanger luge (as designed by
some Engineering Students from Coventry University) and
it went very well indeed! ...see
