A sixty-two-year-old divorcee with two grown-up children and no sign any grandchildren on the way decides to secretly undergo treatment to have a baby, only to learn that her 38-year-old daughter is also pregnant and due at the same time. She is often the only daughter not to know family secrets as one parent usually entrusts Virginia with the truth while Charlotte's investigative nature usually uncovers the truth.
The final scene of the series sees the whole family, and their friends, arguing with each other, as Charlotte announces that she thinks she might be pregnant.
